Choosing the right funding

Which business funding option fits your goal?

The right product depends less on how much you need and more on what the money is for and how quickly it will pay you back. As a rule, match short-term needs with short-term financing and long-term investments with longer terms, so you are not paying interest longer than necessary or squeezing cash flow with payments that come due too fast.

If you are buying a business, refinancing debt or purchasing property and can wait 30 to 45 days, an SBA loan usually offers the longest terms and lowest payments. If you need a defined amount for an expansion, hire or launch, a term loan funds in days with a fixed schedule. For recurring or unpredictable cash-flow gaps, a business line of credit lets you pay interest only on what you draw. Buying vehicles, machinery or gear? Equipment financing uses the asset as collateral. And for payroll, inventory or waiting on invoices, explore working capital options, including receivables financing.

Not sure? You don't have to decide up front. One application shows every product you qualify for, and a dedicated funding advisor walks through the trade-offs with you before you commit. Based in Ohio? See small business funding in Columbus.

Common questions

Will checking my options affect my credit?

No. Reviewing your funding options does not affect your credit score.

How fast can I get funded?

Term loans and lines of credit typically fund in one to three days, equipment and receivables financing in two to five. SBA loans take 30 to 45 days and commercial real estate 25 to 40.

Is Colaeb the lender?

No. Colaeb connects you with our lending partner, ROK Financial, and its network of lenders, who make all credit decisions.

What will I need to apply?

Basic business details to start. Your advisor may later ask for recent bank statements and, for products like SBA loans, tax returns and financial statements.

How much can my business borrow?

Typically $10,000 to $5 million depending on the product, and $250,000 to $10 million for commercial real estate. Your amount depends on revenue, time in business and credit profile.

What credit score do I need?

Options exist for most credit profiles, with scores from 500 considered across our partner's products. Stronger credit generally unlocks longer, lower-cost terms.

Which funding option is right for my business?

It depends on what the money is for. SBA loans suit long-term investments, term loans suit defined projects, lines of credit cover recurring cash-flow gaps, and equipment financing covers vehicles and machinery. A funding advisor will walk you through the options you qualify for.

Does Colaeb charge me to apply?
